Welcome to WV Living

City’s first Housing Fair to be staged next month...

The free event will take place at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Lichfield Street, WV1 1DU, on Sunday, April 2, between 11am and 3.30pm.

It will provide a first-ever opportunity for potential purchasers to talk to a range of new home builders in the city, a first view of new plans for ‘homes you will love’ by WV Living in Wednesfield, Ashmore Park, Bilston and Ettingshall, and everything you want to know about buying a new home - including low cost options.

More than 20 exhibitors, including house builders, private landlords, mortgage advisers, estate agents and registered housing providers, are expected.

City of Wolverhampton Council’s Rent with Confidence, Affordable Warmth, and planning teams will be on hand, while WV Living, a council-owned housing company, is sponsoring the fair.

Help and advice will be available on buying your first home, downsizing, improving your existing property or renting privately.

You can meet house builders with great opportunities for first time buyers, shared ownership and help to buy schemes; get mortgage and general budgeting advice; meet private landlords and find out about the city’s ‘Rent with Confidence’ scheme; find out about housing options for over 50s; speak to planners about home improvements; and find out how to slash your bills with energy efficiency measures.

There will also be a free prize draw on the day with two £50 high street vouchers up for grabs.

Councillor Peter Bilson, Cabinet Member for City Housing and Assets, said: “If you are looking to find the right home in the City of Wolverhampton, then come along to this free event and speak directly to the people who can help you.

“Supporting residents into housing, jobs, and improving the health and wellbeing of local people are top priorities for the city.

“The Housing Fair is a great addition to our Residents Week offer.”
